2000 Year End Winners
Kathie Ferrante is both the Gold & Silver Champion in the Limited Open
Hackamore.

The
Limited Open Hackamore, like the Limited Open Bridle is open to riders who have
earned no more than $10,000 in working cow horse shows.
This year's Limited Open Hackamore Champion wouldn't settle for just one division, but was Champion in both the Gold and Silver ranked shows. Congratulations go to Kathie Ferrante, riding Cutters Smart Star, owned by Jack and Patty Hepple, earning over $2300. Cutters Smart Star is Jack and Patty's first reined cow horse, and with these great wins they are excited to continue their NRCHA experience.
Kathie has been marred to her husband, George, for 20 years and they have two daughters, Kimberly and Josie Kate. Kathie is a real "wonder" woman being mom, training horses, working as an electrician and going to night school two nights a week!
Kathie and George both train horses. She shows in the NCHA, NRCHA and the AQHA. She plans to show Cutters Smart Star in either the Open Two Rein or the Limited Open Bridle. Kathie states, "the limited classes are my favorite. They really help me get better and better. The Silver ranking gives more opportunity for reined cow horse to be a nation wide sport."
The 2000 season was a sure success for Kathie. Congratulations on your double Championship and we'll be watching for you next year.
